That is exactly what I was telling myself as I worked till 8:00 pm completing urgent work that is crucial to our business. Work that was done by a former employee that gave her notice on last Friday. It’s actually all ok. I believe things happen for a reason and I am using the opportunity to improve this area of the business.
Your Grinding Friend (well this one sounds a little….🤔)
#HeiferTuesday It’s a thing, trust me! Spending time with the next generation tonight. I love seeing them as calves, heifers and I look forward to these ladies making great cows in our purebred herd in the future
It’s officially calving season for our commercials. I am more than a bit excited 💃 Hands down, pasture calving is my favourite time of year. I call it adult Christmas 🎁🐮#calving19 #AgTwitter #CdnAg #agriculture
#riverwalks2019 Sharing one of my favourite spots on the river and a quote about change that is hitting home….
“No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man.”
Isn’t it funny how we can want change & familiarity all at once?!?!
Have you ever felt that way before. You know it’s time for change and it would be good, however, you keep wanting to go backwards to an earlier time in life?
Honestly, when you think of it, was that time actually really that great? Probably for some reasons but likely not if you think it through. Plus, if you are working hard to pursue the life that you want versus just settling your todays and tomorrows should be as a whole, much better than your yesterdays.
Every year my life gets better. Different but better. That being said, I still find myself thinking of and yearning for the past while wearing the most memory distorting pair of rose coloured glasses. Glasses that allow me to recall all my favourite moments from the past while blocking out the regular and “bad” times. You can no longer feel the negative emotions of the past but I sure as heck can feel what I am feeling now and imagine fearful situations for the future. What if this happens? Or this doesn’t happen? What is she does _______? What if the markets or technology does blank ________? Is there any wonder we live on a looping rerun of our favourite memories? It’s like turning on your favourite movie that you have seen dozens or times. Safe, familiar and predictable. After all, you know how each of those moments end right?
Reality is as the quote above and below says….
“No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man.”
Each day calls for courage. The courage to change, improve and adapt to our new situations. Each one of us has the courage. It’s there. I know you have it and you are capable of amazing things. You can do it! I believe in you!!!
